Background:Oseltamivir is the first oral antifungal agent in its class. It is effective in systemic and local infections. Its active component, fluconazole, is rapidly absorbed, and it is rapidly metabolised by the liver into its active metabolite. In clinical trials, fluconazole was as effective as the first oral antifungal agent at concentrations of up to 50 µg/ml. However, in clinical practice, fluconazole is frequently used as a monotherapy. This was due to the high incidence of adverse events associated with fluconazole use in patients receiving fluconazole therapy. To determine the incidence of adverse events associated with fluconazole in patients receiving fluconazole therapy, we performed a single-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled trial with a design that allowed for a single randomisation of patients in randomised, double-blinded areas. All patients were randomised in a randomised, double-blinded area in a double-blinded area of the head and neck (unprotected).
